Power Salad
Overstepping the sublime and running screaming towards the ridiculous,  POWER SALAD makes its debut with a full-length CD. Members of this band have previously appeared on The Dr. Demento Show many times since 1985 as part of The Donzo  Bog Band and Zot Theater. The band owes obvious debt to the Doctor and Weird Al Yankovic, and also musical and comic debt to folks such as The Beatles, Firesign Theater, XTC,  National Lampoon, even Count Basie and Cleveland's Big Chuck and Li'l John! The Salad also counts many classic and whacked cartoons of the past as influences, in particular Ralph Bakshi's fabulous 1980s treatment of  "Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures"! In 1997 the track "Co-dependency" was selected by Dr. Demento to appear on his fan club-only "Basement Tapes" compilation, and then there was no escaping the eventuality of finishing and releasing the album.
